[TV] Can subscribers pre-select or pre-order types of modems & STB's?

Hello, I am thinking of ordering Ignite TV+Internet bundle. Can I request that I be provided with Technicolor (Broadcom chipsets) instead of Arris modems and set-top boxes? Or will I be at the mercy of the installers? Thanks for your help.
