Ive had flaky internet connection the last 3 or 4 days... Im on the 500/30 plan. Ive been losing internet completely only for it to comeback right away. Never had much of an issue before the last few days:

Slow speeds.
Hey guys,
Have been suffering a period of at least 2 months of slow speeds on Rogers (500Mb/20Mb) network. I have disconnected all my equipment and performed my speedtest directly from the CODA 4582 and keep getting crappy speeds (~90Mb/16Mb). Rogers tech says there is nothing wrong with the network. I am getting rather irritated by this problem. Paying for a service that I am not even close in receiving. Been with Rogers for about 5 years (residential area).
Ping is about 5ms and jitter may vary from 4ms to 8ms.

Does Rogers block certain IPs from being reached?
For instance, I can't ping 185.16.37.194 from my Rogers home connection. It's fine with a VPS on a different network, and it's fine using a Telus cellular connection.
Does Roger blacklist certain IPs at all? In the traceroute below, the fifth hop are Rogers and that's where it stops.

[Modem/Router] Upstream indicator light turned green
My Rogers' Internet service is CFS (Connected for Success) 10/1. Since the initial installation I have had Hitron CGN3 for nearly a year. For the past week the upstream indicator light turned green (checked all the wiring and rebooted several times), showing only one channel, from being blue all along with more channels (I believe 4); yet I'm not detecting issues with upload speed, testing it with speed test, the upload speed is on par.
Your insight is appreciated.

Constant issues with Rogers 300u - CODA 4582 Modem
Hi all,
I had 300u internet installed at my house 3 weeks ago and have had nothing but issues. I initially had constant disconnects (which have seemingly been solved), but now I have insane bufferbloat. I'm running on the CODA-4582. I'm getting in the 1000ms range when running speed tests (both upload and download). In addition, my upload will peak at about 16-17Mbps but then drop off to 1-2Mbps or even 0. I've called tech support multiple times, had numerous techs out and they can't seem to pinpoint an issue. One tech will say my SNR for my upstream is way off, then another will say everything is fine. I'm supposed to have a maintenance team come out to look at the neighbourhood node, but curious if there's anything I can do/if other people have experienced the same thing?
I'm assuming a router won't help with this as it's an issue with the modem? When I'm hardwired directly into the modem in bridge mode I still get the same insane bufferbloat.
When my modem would drop my connection insitially, the power light and downstream lights would be solid, but the upstream would be blinking. I could only get it to reconnect by power cycling the thing.
When browsing webpages they always feel sluggish despite my download speeds being in the 250-300Mbps range. I pinged my CMTS for about 30mins last night and my max ping was 2800ms with over a 1% drop rate.
This is super frustrating.

I am wondering if anyone that has ignite tv service can confirm that the internet modem is any better than the CODA modem ? Better bufferbloat and not as laggy?

Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1
Hi,
I use the Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 app on the iPhone for some time now, and it was working fine until recently.
Now, I can't connect while using Rogers mobile network. While it's still working over WiFi.
I get a Paused status "Your Network does not support 1.1.1.1". Note that I tried to run it both over HTTPS and TLS, to no avail.
The fact that it was working earlier, and that it's still working fine over WiFi, makes me wondering whether Rogers is purposely blocking Cloudflare DNS now, or by "Accident", like AT&T did last year.
Any idea?

[Internet] DNS Heads up
If you are experiencing issues like you cannot reach sites your normally visit or reach only some sites plus very slow Internet responses or no responses You will need to do a hardware RESET of your Rogers Cable Gateway. Doing a RESET means that everything will be reset to Factory DEFAULT. In default mode you are operating a GATEWAY --so if you had previously BRIDGED your Rogers Gateway you will not need to re-bridge it.
This morning My CODA had to be reset -- never before had this happened to me -- Grrrrr :-) Mayhem in my household.

[Internet] Internet went out - Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance R
Right after midnight my Rogers internet access went down. First I remember since bridging the modem, with my Apple AirPort Extreme acting as router.
Is this an update thing or something? I have this in the event log, right when the modem went down.
"Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out"
I didn't do anything, and about 10 minutes later all was back up, including all the AirPort Extreme connections to the internet. (I have multiple, one as router, and the rest as access points.)
After modem came back up, it's still on the same 36T6 firmware. CODA 4582U.

[Internet] Recently Switched to Rogers
I switched to rogers as they gave me the best deal. They installed a mesh network in the house with a few wireless meshes, but the internet connection will drop on the WiFi every 2-3 hours for about 5 minutes but be totally fine on the wired line. Restarting the modem solves the problem for about 24 hours then it starts again. There was no line to my house so they put a temp line in when installed and the tech thinks this is the problem even though he said your line stats are almost perfect and it shouldn't be a problem. I was going to ask him why only WiFi is a problem if it is the line into the house but he bolted on me.
I have an older router that probably won't be able to do full gigabit so I am tempted to bridge it to test if there are any problems. Does Ignite TV need to be connected to the modem or will it still work through another boxes WiFi?

[TV] PVR recordings wiped out, can't rewind
Hi everyone!
Just wondering if anyone has seen this issue and if there's a reason for it to happen. My 9865HD Nextbox suddenly lost all recordings at 67%, and I've lost the ability to rewind live TV. Haven't tried recording anything, but it seems abnormal that this would happen. Maybe the hard disk is gone, or needs to be reset to defaults?

[TV] Saturday April 6 Network issues
So normally Saturdays is a very quiet day for me from a client perspective. But on April 6 [Saturday] I get a TON of Calls all complaining about their TV service and I am not a TV support specialists. Apparently when my clients attempted to reach Rogers Tech Support for TV the wait times where a minimum of 1 hour ??? So they all called me --- help :-)
During the daytime hours its seems LOTS of pixelization, sound drop outs or no sound at all were the common complaint. Yep I confirmed that was happeing to all of my 5 T'V's as well. In the evening all of that cleared up and working properly. So the only thing I was able to tell my clients Rogers are fixing the NETWORK so be patient ...... Rogers, is it not time you got your ACT together?

[Internet] Ignite Modem Location
I recently had the Ignite package from Rogers installed. However, I am unhappy where the tech placed the Ignite modem - in the furnace room next to the electrical panel.
You may ask what the big deal is? I have all my Ethernet lines in the family room. So I was expecting to plug my Ethernet lines to the Modem (just like I had done with the Bell Fibe modem). Can you sense my regret to switching?
Anyway, because I have an alarm system that relies on the traditional land-line, I was told the modem must remain next to the panel.
And to use my Ethernet lines, I had to put a extender in the family room and and a switch.
Question: Can I not put the Ignite modem in my family room, and use the telephone jack in that room and tie that line into the alarm. Bell could do that. Phone line into modem and modem in family room.
Any thoughts on if this is possible. If not, I may be the shortest term customer Rogers had.

Instagram slow?
Instagram has been Slow for the past two or three days. I turn off Wi-Fi and use my cell phone and everything is fine. I go back to Wi-Fi and Instagram doesn’t work. Everything else works. Am I the only one?
