Important notice about the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition app and Rogers Live TV app.
Starting on May 31, 2018, the following changes will be made to our Rogers TV apps:
• For customers in Ontario, the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition app will no longer be available.
• For customers in Atlantic Canada, the Rogers Live TV app will no longer be available.
How frustrating is this? First they remove the ability to program our PVRs through the Anyplace TV Website and now they remove the only alternative in the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition app. Great job by a company that is going downhill fast!

Toronto High Park area - evening high latency/packet loss
I've had an issue with Rogers for the past 6 months.
During the evenings, my latency is spiking all over the place. It has all the symptoms of a saturated node.
https://i.imgur.com/828sLK1.png - This doesn't tell the full story but you get the picture. I'll post my graphs and other info once I get home.
Last visit, I had a ''senior'' tech come in and do a speed test and claim everything is fine. Meanwhile does not understand what packet loss or high latency is.
I've had 3 modem swaps and I jumped through all their hoops even though I know the issue doesn't reside on my network.
Gaming and VOIP is impossible in the evenings.
I can't even begin with their technical support... so frustrating. Anyone else butting heads with Rogers with similar issues?
EDIT: I am plugged directly into the modem... removed my pfsense fw and everything until I get this sorted out.

Free Channel with DC Cable
I cancelled my cable today, and noticed that Love Nature is still active. I'm guessing this a glitch somehow, as when I change the channel and go back to it. The chanel is no longer active. However, if I access my PVR recording on my box that I own, and then go back to live tv. The channel is active again, so long as I don't change the channel. This some type of glitch ?

Rogers Uploads Issues
Anybody else notice Rogers upload channels are slow as hell half the time and the channel bonding isn't happening?
On the 30/5 package and the upload is 1.5 mbps lately.
Been going on 2 weeks or so now.
Downstream speed/bonding is working just fine.
Using a CGN3 bridged therefore can't access the modem stats page.

Does anyone know what modems Rogers is going to use with their IPTV service that is supposed to launch this year?

[Internet] New and Better Routers/Modems?
Hi, so like many, I'm using the CODA 4582U, and it's not purchased outright. Not sure if you can with Rogers. So if and when Rogers releases a better modem/router, what is the process for upgrading?

Ping spikes causing online games to be unplayable
Got rogers 2 weeks ago and ever since I've been experiencing ping spikes in league of legends at every moment of the day, even at odd times like 4 am. Here is the lag report from the official league site.
https://i.imgur.com/BjoxGav.png
My ping spikes from 50-80 every second so games are unplayable
Last Tuesday a "tech" if you want to call him that came to my house to diagnose the issue and after an argument with him on why these ping spikes were a problem (yes, some people actually require stable ping because we do more than just browse the internet you moron) he called his manager and they said there was an upstream noise issue on my network. So they said they would do maintenance within 5 business days and so far the maintenance has been completed according to them but my ping spikes issue has not changed at all.
What can I do about this?
It's funny because I switched from Teksavvy to Rogers and never had problems this bad with them even though Teksavvy relies on Rogers

[Modem/Router] Tweak TC450 settings to get better speed? (bad cable feed)
I'm on start but I'd figure I'd post this here since this is really a rogers technical question (rogers in London). A second-hand DCM476 modem that I've been using for the past 8 months seems to have died last friday. I know (and a rogers tech knows) that the pedestal where my connection comes from (a pedestal that provides signal for maybe 4 homes) has an RF leak and my underground feed has a cut in it (not a complete break) and my rf power levels (in the modem) were in the -20 range but it was still good enough to give me a solid 30mb/5mb connection (that's the service I'm paying for) and BER of zero for the channels in use.
I'd rather replace the 476 with 4300 (was $78) but Canada Computers is no longer carrying that, instead I get a 4350 ($89) and it's now up and running, but speed-tests are all over the map, usually 5-10 mb down, 3 to maybe 4.5 up. It's using 22 out of 32 channels, each channel 5360537 sym/sec, 14 channels are between -20 and -24 dBmV, the rest are between -17 and -20. This modem doesn't show BER or S/N. 3 upload channels in use, all at 44.5 dBmV.
Apparently I can change Initial DS Frequency (currently set to 591000000),
Diplexer Frequency Range Selection - Auto Always Low(5-42MHz) Always High(5-85Mhz) currently Auto. Would I get any better performance if I changed the initial DS frequency or set the Diplexer frequency range to Low or High?
(I wouldn't have thought this new 4350 would work WORSE on my crappy cable feed compared to the old 476, but yet another example that older is better - and yes I know Rogers needs to come out and fix the drop but I was ok with the way it was and not having some front lawns messed up).

Rogers Ignite TV
Anyone have this service yet? I got a postcard saying that it was available - but I have a whole bunch of older boxes that I own (SA8300HDs, SA4350HDs, SA3250HDs) and I want to keep using some of these. Does anyone know if you can have Ignite TV coexist with regular cable? And does it required any changes to your internet service? I am on Ignite 250U which is 250/20 with an older Hitron CGN3 modem. I haven't bothered changing the modem as it is pretty stable and (as we all know) Rogers has a history of unstable hardware.

[Internet] constantly losing 'sync' after being put on a temporary line
Hi all, was hoping to get an opinion on my current situation.
Been having random intermittent connection issues with my rogers internet, after a rogers tech came and put in a temporary coax line, after the 'buried' cable got chopped (line was not buried deep enough). have contacted rogers again, but they said that since i was on a temporary line, they would not troubleshoot it until my line gets reburied, which could be who knows when.
i have a sneaky suspicion that the tech who came to bury the line knew i might have issues as he had this "well that doesn't look right" look on his face when he was double checking the line stats.
anyways, attached is an image of my current line stats (modem cgn3acsmr_4.5.8.27),
[att=1]
notice how channel ID 1 is horribly mismatched from the rest of the signals in terms of signal strength?
is it always mismatched no matter which port ID it ends up being on. i notice that over time, the signal strength would drop over time, until i get disconnected, and the whole process begins again.
would this be because i'm using a temp line (i personally don't feel like it would, as if that was the case, wouldn't anyone who lives in an area where their coax isn't buried, be disconnecting all the time?) or is there something wrong with the modem, caused when the line got disconnected rather aggressively?
would just like to know what might be the problem (something that can be solved with replacing the modem, or i will have to live with it until rogers buries my cable)... its getting annoying when i would randomly get disconnect when i'm gaming online. Thank for any insight that might be provided.

[Modem/Router] 192.168.100.1 isn't reliable?!
Hi, All
Just noticed that accessing bridged CODA 4582U modem via 192.168.100.1 wasn't reliable. I'm currently on version 34T6. It had 2 times, each time happened in couple of days after a modem firmware upgraded. Have to manually reboot the modem to get it worked again.
Current DOCSIS logs are very simple:
2 notice (SW Download INIT - Via NMS, SW download Successful - Via NMS) and then 1 warning (MIMO Event MIMO: Stored MIMO=-1 post cfg file MIMO=-1;CM-MAC=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx;CMTS-MAC=yy:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1)
But failed to access modem via 192.168.100.1.

Paying for 1gbps and getting 100mbps! What is wrong with Rogers?
I am paying for 1gig internet, and I am getting 100-300mbps while doing a speedtest.
I am connected with Ethernet wire direct, and this problem started happening a couple weeks back. Its funny, a rogers tech came yesterday, checked the lines and said everythings good, and the connection got WORSE after the tech visit!
What can I do to get my original 1gig speeds back?

Will Rogers start using the XB6 over the CODA for regular (non-IPTV) Internet/TV accounts? I assume it would work technically and would consolidate support of firmware etc. Too costly?

pfSense with IPv6 on Rogers
Hi all,
I found a post a few days ago with some good information along with a forum member who is a Rogers employee and uses pfSense as well, but I can't find it for the life of my any more (googling "site:dslreports.com rogers ipv6 pfsense" didn't help :/)
I've tinkered with the settings changing the requested prefix from 48 up to 64, as well as trying certain settings on and off. I've gone as far as rebooting the computer each time hoping that would make it start fresh and get the IPv6 address.
So far ONCE I was able to get one assigned to the WAN interface, but while trying to get the LAN interface set up suddenly it stopped working entirely. Now I'm not sure if it's a problem with my setup or Rogers.
Can anyone let me know what the latest settings are to get this to work? I am running pfSense 2.4.3 if that makes a difference.
Thanks!
